This still life celebrates the spirit and soul of Mariane Ibrahim gallery.
A cocktail of infinite love for art and artists, with a strong sentiment of defending artists of color.
All of the flowers chosen in my composition have their own symbolism and confirm my definition of the gallery’s vision.
The long orange flower is an Acanthus, which symbolize « the love for art ».
The bright blue Queen Daisy symbolizes the « trust, esteem and perseverance ».
The purple and pink Petunias are symbols of anger and resistance.
In the middle of this bouquet of flowers, a fist crowned by a palm leaf reminds us of the struggle to make artists of African descent and the diaspora more visible.
The bottom of the still life comes from a Brancusi sculpture and a canning pattern.
It evokes interiors codes, from my family house in Guadeloupe during my childhood.
