The monograph celebrates Zohra Opoku's career and her series to date. Providing a full record of the artist's work, the book captures the oeuvre of Zohra Opoku with a compilation of her works between 2017 – 2023. The book is released in honor of her first solo exhibition in Paris, The Myths of Eternal Life...Part 2 (April 2023).
Zohra Opoku examines the politics of personal identity formation through historical, cultural, and socio-economic influences, particularly in the context of contemporary Ghana. Her explorations have been mostly through the lens of her camera; her photography is expressed through screen-printing and alternative photo processing on varieties of natural fabrics. While her work relays social commentary and broadly relevant themes around the human experience, each of Zohra’s explorations is intimately rooted in personal identity politics.
