Mariane Ibrahim to Represent Patrick Eugène

Patrick Eugène | Representation

Mariane Ibrahim is pleased to announce the global representation of Atlanta-based, Haitian American artist Patrick Eugène. The artist presented his first dual show with the gallery in Paris in 2022 entitled,  Cinematic Expressions.  His first solo exhibition with the gallery will open in Chicago during EXPO Chicago in April 2023, entitled, 50 lbs.

Patrick shares, “I am deeply honored to join forces with Mariane Ibrahim. The diligence and enthusiasm of the team radiates through each space, creating an invigorating oasis where creativity is celebrated as it should be.”

The large-scale compositions with a central figure, evoke a stillness that entrances the viewer, harnessing improvisational energy and emotive depth, his signature line-making remaining fluid. The compositions are void of a particular place or setting, transcending time.

“Patrick transposes his characters in a soft agitation of his own imagination. He aims to resuscitate collective reveries and resurface nostalgia through lived and vicarious experiences. Each painting, each intention creates an immersive reflection of your own self. Patrick is more interested in flirting with the separation between abstraction and figuration. I knew from the very first moment that he was a fit for our program and vision.” Mariane Ibrahim

As an enthusiastic admirer of abstract expressionist philosophies and forms, Patrick Eugène identified a correlation between the freedom and experimentation of artistic movement and jazz music. Eugène studied the ways in which both forms convey mood and facilitate visceral responses in audiences.

Speaking to the new representation, the artist emphasized, “With unwavering commitment to nurture talent while embracing artistic advancements within the fine art ecosystem, Mariane has ushered in a new era that echoes her own irrepressible energy; one felt transparently throughout everyone involved - from her dedicated team to their outstanding artist’s roster. As I've felt through my interactions here - there is something very special in the air, something I am very excited to experience and grow within.”
