The inaugural group exhibition, Un Abrazo, features new work uniting a selection of represented artists. The exhibition explores the new possibilities of immersion, culture, and sensation that Mexico City represents for their future, and the gallery’s.
Though separated by geography, cultural differences and barriers, the artists have an unwavering shared interest in the exploration and discovery of new cultures, and expansion. “Un Abrazo,” (a hug), recognizes that we enter this new chapter together, mindfully aware that although we may not all be physically present in the city, we can create a camaraderie and togetherness with this new location in Mexico City.
The paintings exhibited draws viewers in with a physical and ethereal connection; the embrace of many figures in the show gesture toward a sense of solidarity, while there is also the uncomfortable, sometimes political, and often refreshing experience of newness present.
Through each painting, a token of the artists own home has been sent to warm our gallery - a hug (un abrazo) between friends at a distance. Un abrazo a Clotilde y México.
