"Puppy Blankie", is a new and monumental work, an extension of Amoako’s recent series from his show in Paris at the gallery entitled, "Inside Out" featured from April through June 2022.
In this new body of work, Amoako’s subjects are captured in dynamic (and sometimes even kinetic) poses. In "Puppy Blankie", the subject seems relaxed as the figure unapologetically lounges for a moment in the sun. It’s as if she has prioritized her self care, and poses the question to the viewer, "why aren’t you?" Quality of life is a theme which Amoako has recently been exploring 'inside and outside' of the studio.
