On the occasion of Jennifer Rochlin's exhibition The Horizon Keeps Moving at Mariane Ibrahim Chicago, the artist was joined in conversation by artist and Assistant Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Jessica J. Hutchins.
Taking the exhibition as a point of departure, the conversation explored Rochlin’s ceramic practice and the ways in which memory, place, and personal narrative become embedded in material and form. Returning to Chicago—the city where she received her MFA in painting in 1999—Rochlin reflected on the architectural, emotional, and art historical influences that continue to shape her work.
