"Although it's something that fills me with a lot of pride, the truth is that I'm aware that now it's my turn to bring certain issues to the table, particularly regarding what's happening in the Americas. I say 'this' because I believe there are certain fights that unite us, from Canada to Patagonia. I'm talking about the racial structure we have, as well as gender issues and security threats. I thought this was a moment to address certain things. In the case of the poster with the swimmers, I decided to evoke Mexican women of color with indigenous roots, to show that brotherhood and Mexican beauty in France. That's the value I hold, more than just being Latin American; it's about being a person who contributes something and expresses my beliefs with conviction."
