Will You Fly or Will You Vanish, 2021 is the first of a new body of work made as a response to the global pandemic. The image of a giant black bird is borrowed from the Asafo Flags of the Fante people but it is reimagined as an archetype of a global force of death and what one is willing to do to overcome. Hence the Fante proverb; "Will You Fly or Will You Vanish?" This new work is a reflection of a choice made, and the artist has chosen to fly with the giant bird rather than perish by it.
