In Chicago with Michi Meko as he guides us through Under the Flickering Light of the North Star, his first solo exhibition with the gallery.
On paper and canvas, Meko layers materials as narrative elements that trace ecological memory, histories of fugitivity, and the dualities embedded within American landscapes. His dusk-toned compositions, punctuated by phosphorescent light, map a cartographic language that builds upon an intergenerational vision rooted in both contemporary and ancestral practices of escape and perseverance.
