Maïmouna Guerresi in conversatoin with historian and scholar, Silvia Beltrametti.
In the Chicago gallery with Guerresi and Beltrametti as they walk us through and discuss the current exhibition of her new body of work, "The Fall: Awa and Adama."
Enfolded in fine draperies, the monumental bodies of the common ancestors stand out against the darkness of each Edenic background. The darkness seems to presage not only an imminent fall, but a condemnation. "The Fall" is not only the story of “the origin” but is also the point from which Guerresi probes the hidden harmony of the human.
