In an article published by Arte Magazine Korea, journalist Kim Bo-ra explores the pivotal role of Mariane Ibrahim in launching the global career of Ghanaian artist Amoako Boafo. Their first connection happened on Instagram — a digital encounter that led to Boafo's meteoric rise, including a solo presentation at Art Basel Miami and now his first museum exhibition in Asia.

“I entered the art world asking why I didn’t see the artists I was looking for,” Ibrahim says. “It wasn’t a world built for me, but I realized I could help shape it.” Her mission is clear: to challenge historical exclusions and open doors for artists like Boafo, Peter Uka, and Jorg Opoku.

She believes that true progress in art comes from mutual influence and cultural dialogue. “Cubism was inspired by Africa, Impressionism by Japan — I want to continue that exchange, to create ruptures between the center and the margins.”
