In Toulouse, the Nouveau Printemps by Kiddy Smile in 5 unmissable events.

"Curated by Kiddy Smile with artistic director Clément Postec, this edition of Le Nouveau Printemps in Toulouse focuses on themes like homosexuality, trans identity, Black masculinities, dance as a form of connection, and celebration as activism..

Raphaël Barontini presents a monumental textile installation in the main reading room of the Library of Study and Heritage in Toulouse. Following his acclaimed exhibitions at the Panthéon and the Palais de Tokyo, Barontini brings a powerful homage to this historic venue. His work is composed of collages and combinations of dyed fabrics, digital textile prints, and silkscreening, paying tribute to the Creole storyteller and their unique literary expression.

Inspired by writer Patrick Chamoiseau’s vivid description, the installation captures not only words but also the full sensory experience of storytelling—the sound of the throat, sweat, the rolling of eyes, the belly, hand gestures, scents, the company, the sound of the ka drum, and all the silences. This immersive piece highlights the depth and richness of Creole oral tradition through a striking and evocative textile artwork."
