Zohra Opoku's exhibition I Have Arisen…Part 2 is Art Basel editorial team's pick of seven unmissable shows to see during Paris Gallery Weekend.
For German-Ghanaian artist Zohra Opoku, the self is a vessel: It carries personal and cultural archives entangled in both ancient mythological tales and natural cycles of life. Photographs, often screen-printed on vintage linen sacks, serve as the basis of the artist’s textile-based works, which she then adorns with hand-stitched embroidery or brass.
The exhibition is on view in the Parisan space until June 3, 2023.
