Discover Painter Carmen Neely’s Personal and Intimate Abstract Works
Carmen Neely's energetic marks bounce across a softly colored background, occasionally clustering to form dense masses before disappearing into light, airy scribbles. The artist maintains daily journaling practice, indicating notes from conversations or phrases that she senses “could become a tangible painting.” These notes encompass everything, from an argument to a romantic relationship.Each of Neely's works begins with the title before channeling the energy around it. She participated in Art Basel Miami Beach, through Mariane Ibrahim, in December 2022. The artist's first solo exhibition with Mariane Ibrahim be on view from May 27 through July 8, which will continue her ongoing exploration of seeking strength through vulnerability.
