Art Basel Paris Makes a Grand Debut at the Grand Palais
The third edition of Art Basel Paris, previously named Paris+ par Art Basel , took place at the Grand Palais, aligning its branding with other global locations. The fair showcased a diverse array of artistic styles and mediums, encouraging vibrant discussions about art's evolution.
One of the artists featured in Mariane Ibrahim's booth was Amoako Boafo with his work Cherry Blossom Dress, 2024. Boafo offers a fresh perspective on depicting Black bodies, challenging traditional narratives in Black culture. Renowned for his finger-painted portraits, his unique style fosters intimate connections between the viewer and the subjects, who exude strength through their steady gazes. The artists largest solo exhibition, “Proper Belvedere,” is set to open in Vienna on October 25.
