The vibrancy of Afro-Brazilian art is on display in the capital
"A deep ocean-blue corridor in the Mariane Ibrahim gallery connects to six rooms, which on this occasion are seen as ports. In each of them is the work of an artist who addresses the Afro-Brazilian identity in his or her own style.
The Ocean is the Axis is the title of this exhibition, which reflects on how Brazil 'is currently a reference point for Afro-diasporic influence, with the largest Black population outside Africa,' as stated in the gallery text signed by curator Igor Simões."
