Winter in Palm Springs might as well be summer, with snow-capped mountains and perfect pool weather. The “tile” in the pool sets the Palm Springs vibe and the patterns on the “floaties” make it so you are not sure if it is the 1980s or the present day. This is A safe space, where you can really be in the moment with no distractions from life/technology. The use of tissue paper Creates the perfect texture of the water, which allowed me to really freeze that moment while keeping the movement of Santa Ana winds blowing across the pool. Normally my figures are androgynous, these are intentionally two male figures in an intimate and vulnerable moment in a happy safe space with no fear of judgment.
