Regarding Mr. Clement, Peter Uka said the work is an imagined portrait of his primary school class teacher. He described him as very strict, but also polite, kind in his own way, and well disciplined. He recalled that Mr. Clement believed students should always be clean and tidy and that he carried himself with a strong sense of order. After a recent conversation in which someone mentioned Mr. Clement, Uka said he felt compelled to reimagine how his teacher looked at that time.
