In 2018, the gallery returns to the Armory with a solo exhibition of Lina Iris Viktor.
Viktor is a British Liberian artist who lives between New York and London. Her palette of black, blue and 24k gold creates striking large-scale paintings, sculptures, performance art and site specific installations. Much of Viktor's work is a conversation in contradictions: the decadent and minimal, dark enveloped in what she refers to as “layers of light”.
She manages to translate the blackness from a void to a color that contains every other.
The booth was critically acclaimed, covered in major media outlets such as The Observer, Artnet, Artsy, the Art Newspaper and more.
